KID’S CRAFT | JELLY PLAY DOUGH

Play Dough – my kids LOVE the stuff!  I didn’t think they could possibly love it any more until I made this Jelly Play Dough, pretty safe to say they are obsessed!

I had been wanting to give it a go since the ‘loverly’ Cat talked about it on her blog.  I decided to make a couple of batches for home and then make some extras to take along to Nate’s Kindy, why not share the play dough love!

I followed the recipe from Modern Parents Messy Kids, the only thing I changed was to add glitter into a couple of the batches for a bit of bling!

So I set about getting my first batch done and of course it got to the hard bit where you have to stir and stir and stir and it gets tougher and tougher and tougher – so I called for back up in the form of Husband!  Bless him!  So from then on I did the easy part of the measuring and combining all the ingredients and he stirred – something that he is used to doing….

I used Aeroplane Jelly – the real stuff not the one with all natural colours and flavourings - in Orange, Lime, Blueberry and Raspberry.  The colours were awesome and the smell was delicious!  The consistency of the play dough was amazing, I could have played with it all day!  So lovely and smooth!

The kids had a ball playing with it and it is still a daily activity whether it be for 5 minutes or hours.  They love it!

Nate said to me after making the above masterpiece ‘It’s nice and lovely chocolate Mummy.  It’s very friendly, touch it Mummy’.  Seriously where do they come up with this stuff!

So the verdict is that the Jelly Play Dough is awesome!  You really should give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

P.S. If you decide to add the glitter, don’t used your best non stick pot – cause it will scratch the you know what out of it!  Lesson learned!
