After posting this on Instagram the very wonderful ‘sunshineinateacup’ left me a comment saying ‘I’d suggest some crafty food colouring paint activity using the cotton tips as brushes’ – genius!  So that is what we did!  I busied myself getting it all ready making sure they each had the same amount of colours each (so as to avoid any fuel for an argument) and let them go for it.  It is something Nate does at Kindy so he had great pleasure in showing Hamish what to do….

Although it only lasted ten minutes until they were over it, it was ten minutes of relative quiet with no bickering which at the moment is a constant thing round these parts, tell me they grow out of it to some degree….

Do you have a standby activity that you pull out when you are at your wits end?!?

** It must also be said and let’s just put it out there that I was also never going to bribe my children either but that happens daily
